Buckwallow Cycling Centre

Be Advised - Buckwallow remains closed for the 2020 season. Opening Spring 2021

Located less than 10 minutes off Highway 11 between Gravenhurst and Bracebridge, Buckwallow is one of the most iconic mountain bike riding centres in Muskoka. With no active website, this hidden gem is known simply by word of mouth, and a facebook page run by trail riders. Day passes and seasons passes are available for purchase on site only. Buckwallow is open early May - October 31st every year.

Buckwallow Cycling Centre has trails for the entire family. Their difficulty rating system and trail signage makes for easy way-finding, and their diverse amount of trails gives you numerous options to test out during your ride.

Bracebridge Resource Management Centre

The Bracebridge Resource Management Centre (BRMC) trails are well known multi-use trails for hiking and XC skiing, and most recently for mountain biking. Directly off Highway 11N just north of Bracebridge, provincial signs lead the way to their main entrance.

In 2018, Muskoka Off Road Cycling Association was granted permission to build and maintain trails within the BRMC. In a matter of two seasons, mountain biking has increased significantly within these trails and users have rave reviews about the technical, granite filled riding.

They haven’t forgotten about the beginner level riding, and have made sure to add in some flowy easy riding trails accessible via the main north entrance of the BRMC. Visit MORCA’s website to check out the trail map, membership information and trail conditions.

Porcupine Ridge Mountain Bike Trails

Another iconic mountain bike location in Ontario, are the technical and advanced Porcupine Ridge Mountain Bike Trails. Located just off Santa’s Village Road in Bracebridge, these trails are known over the years for their difficulty. Sadly, the trails sat dormant for a year until MORCA was able to re-open these trails to the public again just before the 2019 season. MORCA continues to maintain these trails, and have new trail plans for 2020.

Beginners beware, as these trails are gnarly!

Echo Valley Nature & Bike Trails

Huntsville Mountain Bike Association, formed in 2018, have worked tirelessly on the mountain bike trails in Echo Valley Nature & Bike Trails. Located east of Huntsville off Highway 60 towards Dwight. Trails include a mix of single and double track, and there’s even a small pump track to check out!

Donations can be made at the trail head in honour boxes, or you can purchase a HMBA membership directly through their website.

HMBA is also working on new trails at Hidden Valley Ski Resort as of Summer 2020. Check out their website for updates.

Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre

A multi-season facility, Georgian Nordic is well-known for their winter activities, but their mountain biking is exceptional. Tight turning single track, and lots of double track to take in the scenery. Day passes can be purchased on site during office hours, or online through their website. Georgian Nordic trails are the home to many cycling events throughout the course of the summer.

Located just outside of Parry Sound.
