CELEBRATING | ONE YEAR

CELEBRATING | ONE YEAR!

The vision was something in Matt’s head for years. “One day, I’ll re-open the bike shop”. It seemed like a pipe dream to us. But with much perseverance, lots of coffee and a LOT of help from our family and friends, his once “pipe-dream” became a reality. When we drove down Dominion St. that day and saw a “for lease” sign in the window of his dad’s old shop, it was serendipitous. We had to inquire.

We’ve had the most amazing support during this first year in business. From having an open minded landlord willing to approve major renovations, to family who is talented enough to complete such a major renovation. We reconnected with so many past Nielsens Bicycles customers, and we reminisced about their first bike purchase with Kurt. We’ve made some fantastic new friends, and we’ve seen some unreal bikes through the service shop. One thing we’ve heard a lot is..

“Wow - Matt really IS passionate about what he does”.

A day in the bike shop for Matt is different than the average daily work plug. Every single thing he does is in his day to day is to better his bike knowledge, making the experience that much better for our customers.

We started small, with the original bicycle brand that Matt’s dad carried in his bike shop - Marin Bikes. Over the course of a year, we were approached by Pivot Cycles to showcase their state of the art bikes in our shop. Not long after, we were thrilled to re-connect with Rocky Mountain Bicycles (another original Nielsens brand) and welcome them back to the shop. Props to Gee Louter, a long time family friend, for his willingness to help in the service shop during our first summer!

We want to thank you for welcoming us back to downtown Bracebridge with open arms. Thank you for the visits in the off-season, thank you for the coffee drops during our busiest of summer days and thank you for continuing to support us through COVID-19. Thank you for wearing our swag proudly and following along our journey on social media. While we had hoped to celebrate one year a little bit differently, we’ll save a celebration for another day. That year went FAST! We are stoked to be headed into year number two with you by our side.

Thank you thank you thank you,

Matt & Charlotte
